Concord
Museum
Since 1996, the Thoreau Society has collaborated with the Concord
Museum and the Thoreau Institute at Walden Woods (Walden Woods
Project) on the Thoreau Community Lecture Series.
Concord Free Public Library
The Concord Free Public Library supports the editing and preparation of The Thoreau Society Bulletin. The CFPL Special Collections houses the Kovar Collection of Walden editions. The library is an excellent community resource.
Literary
Trail of Greater Boston
The Thoreau Society is part of the Literary Trail of Greater Boston,
a collaboration of sites and organizations that interpret the
rich literary history of Boston, Cambridge and Concord through
special tours, programs, publications and events.
Minute
Man National Historical Park
The Thoreau Society’s office at 55 Old Bedford Road
is within the boundaries of Minute Man National Historical Park
in the Meriam’s Corner area. It is appropriate that we are
located in an historic structure within the Park that has as its
mission the interpretation of the events and issues surrounding
the beginning of the American Revolution. The story of Thoreau
is in many ways the story of how that revolutionary impulse continued
on through Thoreau's life, literature and legacy.
Orion Grassroots Network
The Thoreau Society is proud to participate in this network of North American environmental and community organizations.
The Ralph Waldo Emerson Society
Since 1991, the Ralph Waldo Emerson Society has presented a panel or special lecture at the Thoreau Society Annual Gathering, in keeping with each summer's theme. Many individuals are members of both organizations. It's a natural partnership.
Thoreau Farm Trust
The Thoreau Society works with the local Thoreau Farm Trust to preserve the house that Henry was born in.
Thoreau
Institute
The Thoreau Society’s collections are housed in Lincoln, Mass., at the Thoreau
Institute, part of the Walden Woods Project. Since 1996, the Thoreau Society has collaborated with the Concord
Museum and the Walden Woods Project on the Thoreau Community Lecture
Series.
University of Massachusetts Press
The Thoreau
Society works with this publisher to release volumes in The
Spirit of Thoreau series: paperbacks which feature
selections of Thoreau's writings on particular themes.
The
Thoreau Reader
This comprehensive online resource contains works by Henry Thoreau and
scholarship about his life, writings, and philosophy. We encourage
you to contact Richard Lenat at rlenat@yahoo.com to have your
contributions published to the Thoreau Reader website.
Walden
Pond State Reservation
The Thoreau Society, through its official role as the Friends
of Walden Pond, supports the educational programs, visitor
services, park operations and conservation efforts at Walden Pond
State Reservation.
Walden University
This graduate institution contributes to the Thoreau Society auction, sponsors speakers at the Annual Gatherings, and funds specific Society initiatives. The university recently donated funds to print our newest membership brochure.
